For any events we manage that are designed to be broadcast publicly, Speaker Interactive will be using twebevent.  It is a service that mashes streaming video (or audio) with a Twitter Chat.  This creates additional exposure for the event and creates community built around the video.  Their tagline is “Collaborative Media”.

We expect that this service will be beneficial for our customers seeking increased viewership.

There is a wiki where you can learn more.   The short version is…point your browser to http://tweetchat.com/room/spkrchat at 9pm EST on Wednesdays and login with your Twitter username & password, you will be chatting with other professional speakers.  Click the “wiki” link above or the image at left for more details.

There is no cost.  Just professional speakers helping professional speakers.  If you have been a professional speaker for some time, come and help those who are new to the game.  If you are new, come and share your challenges.

Speaker Interactive Dialog product

Thanks to all the speakers, bureaus, event planners, and end-users who have graciously given us their feedback on the online tools that will be helpful to support the professional speaker industry.  From your ideas (and some of our own), we have developed plans for two new products.

The first, which is now in development, is called “Dialog”.  It will be a tool that speakers or event organizers can use to start or maintain an online conversation with their audiences before or after an event.

Some of the features include:

• integration with Twitter so that you are also giving fans the opportunity to “follow” you and increase the reach of your message
• a short URL that links directly to your page so you can give it out at an event
• rating and feedback so that you can learn what is working and not working for continuous improvement

We hope to launch the Dialog product in alpha this summer.  If you are interested in being part of the initial launch, please comment on this post with your contact info.  We will very likely be providing free accounts to our first users.

This was the first time that most of the attendees had heard about Speaker Interactive.  There was significant interest and many business cards were shared.  We look forward to growing relationships with all the bureaus that Rob met.
